This standard applies to permanently installed residential inground swimming pools intended for noncommercial use as a swimming pool by not more than three owner families and their guests and exceeding 24 inches (61 cm) in water depth. This standard was reaffirmed on June 6, 2022, with approval of the original edition of this standard on April 22, 2011. Addenda A was approved June 28, 2012.
