This standard is a revision of ANSI/APSP/ICC-11 2019, and is based on the most recent health-related scientific information regarding recreational water quality. This standard provides recommended minimum updated guidelines for the specifications for water quality parameters in public pools, hot tubs, and spas. It covers a range of values that are acceptable for pool, hot tub, and spa operation relating to various chemicals. It can be incorporated into national or regional health codes, and adopted by state and/or municipalities as a local code or ordinance. This is the downloadable PDF version.
This standard is managed under the ANSI Continuous Maintenance process. Change Requests (CRs) are accepted continuously and should be submitted through the PHTA website at phta.org.
